Time for another photo update for our second day at Cama Beach Crochet Retreat 2011!

I took Jimbo’s class on knitting needle makeovers with Jaquie from Australia! We took knitting needles and made them into tunisian crochet hooks!
Fearless Leader dropped in to desecrate a knitting needle and make a tunisian hook too!

Fearless Leader’s Hubby (Park Ranger Jeff) and Amy’s husband Dennis and I worked on the Scrabble puzzle. It was fun to try to come up with crochet/retreat related words only. OK, we cheated on one. Some letters were missing from the game. Can you find the cheat?

After tea, some of us gathered with Jimbo to do a “hook tasting” focus group experiment. Those 8 varied hooks I posted a photo of yesterday? Today we tested them all out, noting likes, dislikes and general observations, including hand hold, favorite hooks and tight or loose stitcher!

You heard there was a tattoo artist available at the retreat, right? Tracie is getting a Lovely “Crochet Or Die” tattoo!
For the evening program, we heard a speaker from the Center for Wooden Boats and Park Ranger Jeff gave us a presentation on the Native American archeological finds from Cama so far. Very interesting!
Willow’s ready to run by the beach some more. Before we took off, I caught a picture of her sporting her new hat Laurinda made during the tea tasting. Cute!
